Heather Findlay
Editor in Chief
Contact Heather
Editor in Chief and co-owner of our company, Heather has a B.A. in Women's Studies
from Brown University and a doctorate in English from Cornell. She was the editor of On Our Backs
before leaving to start Girlfriends in 1994; two years later she acquired On Our Backs and
relaunched it in 1998. Now she directs the editorial of all of the company's magazines,
oversees new product development, and writes an occasional book review for Girlfriends.
In 1998 she married her girl, Alice, whose money she spends on their growing wine collection.

Suzanne Corson

Before taking the editorial reins at On Our Backs,
Suzanne Corson was the
editor at EastBayVoice. She also spent
twelve years as the proprietrix
of Boadecia's Books, a feminist/queer bookstore near Berkeley, California.
Suzanne has a B.A. in Women's Studies and Ethnic Studies from Mills College
and has been published in Feminist Bookstore News, Girlfriends, Sojourner,
Books To Watch Our For, and in the fiction anthology Uniform Sex: Erotic
Stories of Women in Service. |

Karen Shertzer

Contact Karen
Karen has more than fifteen years experience in advertising
and marketing. She formerly worked for Primedia in hotel/tourism
publications and was the advertising director of The Monthly. She has an
interest in photography and indigenous philosophies. Karen was a co-producer of the first gay radio program in the
U.S.

Erin Findlay

Publisher and co-owner of our magazines, Erin has had rich and varied experiences, beginning in 1974 as a political reporter for The Ark, the local Tiburon, California newspaper. In 1982, Erin left to become a city council member for Belvedere. All of this was before starting Girlfriends magazine with her daughter Heather. Besides remaining close with her family, Erin's very fond of her church Bridge nights and golf. |
